It's not that he's isn't hot.

I'd break up with him, but all of our friends love us being together. To make things worse he would be the perfect boyfriend, I'm just not the perfect girlfriend.

That sums it up. Without that "spark" it's pointless.
Forget your friends - you are the one in the relationship not them.
It's not fair to pretend - end it so he can find someone who genuineally wants to be with him heart & soul, and you can find the same for yourself.

It's not fair to him.
Break up with him.
He deserves to be loved.
YOu gave him a chance and you just don't.
And that's ok, it really is.
It's not fair to stay with him if you don't.
