I was at an amusement park today, when someone dropped a bag containing a souvenir and its receipt. They were on a tram back to the parking lot and nobody had seemed to notice that anyone dropped anything. So, I ran over to the bag and lo and behold a $7.00 gift box full of chocolate. Quickly, I ran to the store and exchanged it for the money. And now I'm thinking... Some kid must be crying over their dropped chocolate. I feel horrible. I think I should donate the $7.00

3 comments (post a new comment)Believe me, if it's a kids chocolate, they would know it went missing, and wouldn't drop the chocolate in the first place. Dont stress over it :)

Look at it this way: if they had seven bucks just for chocolate they weren't exactly starving. And I think you needed the money more than they did. Otherwise you would've just eaten the chocolate.
One day, when you're doing pretty okay with money, just "accidentally" drop a few bucks near someone who you instinctively know could really use it.
These things all balance out. You'll pass on that money at the right time.
