Time to End This

I will never understand people who say this. I have tried and came close, but ultimately I realize that life can be as busy--or as empty--as you make it. It sounds so cliche to say that, but it really is true.

If you hang out and befriend some thugs, that will pull your life in one direction of activity. Good or bad is irrelevant here. The point is change is that simple.

If you adopt a child, that will thrust your life in a completely different direction of activity.

When you think you're done with your life, how about befriending someone who's outside your "typical" circle, or scope, of friends--Someone that is deserving of your attention, and enrich their lives, just as a friend. Show genuine interest and concern for him/her. You would be surprised how much more rewarding--even fulfilling--life becomes as you ease the suffering of someone else.

Sometimes immigrants--legal or illegal--make amazing friends who can teach you so much about appreciating what you have. And many of them are sincere. They would love to have you in their lives. You might even volunteer to help someone learn English.

Why not? What have you got to lose? You already decided to end it.

We all really do need each other for life to have real meaning.
